The expert training component of the ARTIFACT project is designed to:
1. Enhance skills and knowledge in flood risk assessment, urban flood proofing, and AI-based modeling
2. Facilitate knowledge transfer between participating institutions (e.g., TU Delft, IHE Delft, and TUHH) and IVI researchers.
Training topics and key dates:
- Strengths and weaknesses of physically-based models for flood simulation in urban areas (May, 2025)
- Data collection and processing for 2D flood modelling in urban contexts (November, 2025)
- Deep learning for spatio-temporal flood modelling, including dike-breach flooding and urban drainage modelling (March, 2026)
- Urban Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for flood risk management: from design to modelling, including the role of AI (October, 2026)
- Creating AI tools for flood risk estimation under changing climate conditions (TBA, 2027)
- Designing user-friendly interfaces for visualizing flood risks and mitigation strategies (TBA, 2027)
