Online Expert Training: Physically-Based Flood Simulation Models in Urban Areas

We invite all interested participants to join the first online expert training session via Zoom, which will take place on May 14, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. The topic of the training is: “Strengths and Weaknesses of Physically-Based Models for Flood Simulation in Urban Areas”.

The training will cover the following learning topics:

  • Introduction to urban flood modeling
  • Aims and objectives of urban flood modeling
  • Overview of standard computational models (e.g., SWMM, MIKE URBAN, TUFLOW, etc.)

The training will focus on the following learning outcomes:

  • To introduce participants to the basic concepts and processes involved in urban flood modeling
  • To explain the main aims of applying flood models in urban flood risk management
  • To provide an overview of widely used computational including their features, applications, and comparative strengths

Moderator:

• Prof. Dr. Zoran Kapelan

Lecturers:

• Prof. Dr. Zoran Vojinović

• Dr. Natasa Manojlović

To register for the training, please complete the Zoom registration form. After registration, you will receive a Zoom meeting link via email.
